As I gazed at the stars this morning,
I felt the power of Your pure love;
It filled my soul with a healing peace,
Brought to me on the wings of a dove.

Thank You God, for hearing my prayers,
Thank You for all the love You provide;
Though lessons in life can be so cruel,
They're simpler when I stay by Your side.

I'll look out at the world this new day,
I'll see all the wonders that You've brought;
Knowing as long as I trust in You,
That all of my battles can be fought.

One at a time I will face them all,
Believing that they can all be won;
But not through any power of my own,
But only by the grace of Your Son.

New light is on the horizon,
Bringing peace to an aching heart;
Bringing warmth to a world that's cold,
Offering me a bright new start.
