Sadly, you are so very right, even in your sarcasm, Paul. I did a search not long ago on U.S. companies owned by foreign nations. THAT was one more big eye-opener. There's not much on the market, now-a-days, that reads Made in U.S.A, but still LOOK before you BUY! Even when my cars have always been U.S. made, most parts are not. Great poem, dear friend!

Fine kick in the pants Paul. I do look for American labels and in 40 years have only owned one foreign car, even when I knew the American models were your basic piece of sh** because it meant jobs and eventually quality did improve. I do admit to drinking and enjoying the evil foreign beers, but even my mainstay "Budweiser" sold out. Talk about national suicide. Patrick

One world, one race, maybe over patriotism will one day be seen as a disgrace ti the family of the human race.
In the nearish future when mankind has killed himself, nature has no cares about mans short term boundaries, that are fought over out of dark motives.

When I said, "Patriotism means nothing," I didn't mean it literally; I was being sarcastic. Those who buy imports without a second thought, don't care how they hurt our economy or our own citizens. So, so sad.

I hope someday our government will limit the importation of cheap, inferior, foreign goods and our people will make enough money to always buy American. Greed is at the heart of all of it, only God can counquer greed.

...and only God can save us.

Dear Paul,

This is an honest, sincere and thought provoking poem. BRAVO!

However, I disagree with the line "Patriotism means nothing." "Thank God" not all of our kids are that ignorant. I teach a writing class for FGCU, our nations newest university. I wore a red, white and blue shirt to class and had a WWII Veteran speak to the students yesterday. More than half of the students thanked the Army-Air Corps Veteran and they loved the stories that he told them. I received nothing but positive comments about my display of the US flag by faculty and students alike. So yes, patrotism does mean something! We just have to be bold enough to open our hearts and reach out to others and give our veterans a forum in which to speak. Then watch the silent majority show up! Our spirits are often dampened by watching all of the CRAP on the TV, comp. media and listening to negativity on the radio. Get with folks in your community - I bet that most will still say, "God Bless America!" I hope this gives you renewed sence of hope for our country and it's future. Have a GREAT day in the Lord.
