Sometimes, no matter what we do or who we are, we are still tested. As bugs seemed to be crawling all over me and biting me this morning as I cut the grass, I found I was angry with God. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why a loving and caring God would allow things like this to happen to those who are sincerely praising and seeking Him. Never mind the heart attack I had last month. I welcome all thoughts on this subject.
Rose bright and early this morning,
Said my prayers before sunrise;
Took a good look at the front lawn,
Figured I get some excercise.
Left the tractor in the garage,
Took the push reel mower instead;
The doctors said walking is good,
I kept that thought deep in my head.
As I walked the lawn, back and forth,
A huge horsefly gave me a welt;
Skeeters sucked blood out of the wound,
That's when I told God how I felt.
"I give You praise every day,
Spread Your word to all that I know;
So why do You treat me this way,
Does it matter which way I go?
"Are You simply a vengeful God? Get pleasure from our suffering;
Is that what this day has in store,
How much hurt and pain will it bring?"
This is part of the mystery,
Must we suffer no matter what?
Sometimes it's hard to keep one's faith,
If we don't trust, then what have we got?
"Lord, forgive me for what I said,
But still, it just doesn't seem fair;
It is so hard to understand,
As sometimes it seems, You don't care."
We often feel this way but God above has His reasons for everything. My Mom use to tell me never question Him for we may never understand. Great write Paul, we just have to keep our faith.
Oh Paul...heartfelt! This is a hard place to be dear Paul, yet the comfort of the WORD rings out, " I Am right here with you son." Yes Paul in all that you have gone through, and is still going through: God is right there by your side. Some questions may never be answered in this life, yet God is able to keep your faith strong in Him, and Paul He is bragging on you..your life is a living testimony! Be encouraged for God does care for you , and He is working out every situation that concerns you!
OH PAUL, YOU ARE A DEAR, FAITHFUL, TRUSTING BROTHER IN CHRIST. BUT YOU ALSO ARE, WHAT WE ALL ARE; HUMAN. THAT MEANS THAT JUST LIKE DAVID(WHO WAS A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART), WE DO AT TIMES LAY OUR COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE LORD...AND IT'S ALRIGHT TO DO SO BECAUSE WE ARE NOT HIPPOCRITES AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN WE JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE THINGS THAT HAPPENS TO US. BUT WE MUST REMEMBER (AND I AM TALKING TO MYSELF AS I AM TALKING TO YOU...'CAUSE I HAVE MY 'MOMENTS' TOO)THE WORD OF GOD SAYS, GOD'S WAYS ARE NOT OUT WAYS AND 'HIS' WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OURS AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH. WE, AS SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS, GO THROUGH A WHOLE LOT AND AT TIMES WE DO WONDER, 'WHY!?' BUT THERE ARE SOME ANSWERS THAT WE WILL NOT GET ON THIS SIDE, WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND CONTINUE TO LIVE NOT BY SIGHT OR CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT MY FATITH. SO THEN, I ASK YOU, SHALL 'ANYTHING' SEPARATE FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST? NO! WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED US AND GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US! SOMETIMES, WE ARE TROUBLED ON EVERY SIDE, BUT NOT DISTRESSED, SOMETIMES WE ARE PERPLEXED BUT NOT IN DESPAIR...CASTDOWN, BUT NOT DETROYED. I HAVE QUOTED SCRIPTURES THAT I KNOW YOU KNOW YOU ALREADY KNOW... AND I AM OVERJOYED TO HEAR WORDS IN THIS WORK THAT LET ME KNOW YOU ARE 'STILL' RUNNING FOR THE LORD. YOU SAID, 'SEEMS LIKE'. PRAISE GOD THAT YOU KNOW, IT ONLY 'SEEMS' LIKE GOD ISN'T FAIR, IT ONLY 'SEEMS' LIKE GOD ISN'T AWARE...AND YOU SAID, FORGIVE ME FOR WHAT I'VE SAID...AND EVEN BEFORE YOU ASKED...HE HEARD AND FORGAVE. PRAYER IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER, PAUL. SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO STOP WHAT WE ARE DOING, GO ASIDE AND PRAY... HE IS THERE WAITING TO TAKE US IN HIS ARMS. HE REVIVES US, STRENGTHENS US AND REASSURES US OF HIS LOVE FOR US AND WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO 'PRESS ON' OUR JOURNEY. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE QUESTIONS...ALL I KNOW IS THAT JESUS IS THE ANSWER ...ALWAYS. Hi Paul, First of all I was not aware you had a heart attack last month. I am deeply sorry, but I know with the help of GOD you will return to better health. I had one on Christmas eve last year and it raised a lot of complications for me. You are my friend and I will pray in ernest for you.
Despair is easy to get into and once there easy to ask why as if God was not aware of our plight, cared less or caused it. Your faith is being tested and never forget Christ died for the love of us. He didn't have to die a painful death, He freely chose it.
