He woke me up before sunrise
The Lord called me early today
I wasn't about to argue
With His great and glorious way

Out to the backyard I wandered
In awe of His wonders around
The moon shining brightly above
Softly sending its light on down

Millions of stars speckled the sky
Shining like Angels in Heaven
In this fine and glorious morn
A new prayer of thanks I began

"Thank You Dear Lord for all Your gifts
For the blessings You grant to me
Even in the hour before dawn
You still provide so much to see

"From deer waking with the new day
My son at peace asleep in bed
With Jesus walking beside me
I know I have nothing to dread"

A bull moose chuffs off to my right
His mate staying close by his side
They glance at me as if to say
'From you we have no need to hide'

Then from deep within the forest
A warning from a mother bear
Telling her cub to be careful
As she senses my presence near

Yet the cub still moves in closer
Coming right up on my back lawn
Sniffing the air searching for food
"Thank You Lord for this glorious morn"
