Yes, Paul...We are to blame, but for more and other reasons than those you have stated. For the past 30-40 years we have been boosting labor unions to a level of strength that was unrivaled. This led to higher wages and benefits that became insanely high driving up the price on everything we made until the foreign markets came in to make things cheaper, and in some cases of higher quality. We could not produce a product that could compete anymore and so we stopped making our own products. Our cars were gas guzzlers and big boxes that were outdated the minute they rolled off the assembly line and other countries designed their engines to run more efficiently and with higher quality, in some cases, than ours. We paid our workers so much and upped their benefits packages so much that it was no longer profitable to make our own products. Where was the advantage long-term for our high paid worker? They were eventually out of a job and out of benefits in the long run when America got too lazy to make "American" products. We integrated foreign parts in our cars and appliances until none of it was made in American anymore. It was the greed of American companies who sought NAFTA and other trade agreements that would allow the newer American based businesses to buy overseas cheaper tapping into a CHEAPER labor market.

I like this write Paul. But what can I say. Remember that is was the Indian who was really made in the USA, So let the Indian come back. Allow their crafts to se4ll. For if we don't respect our Indian roots we can all be subject to ____.

I do look for made in USA labels and purchase accordingly. So do we turn our backs on Chevy? Big shareholder is China. So I guess yes. But the plants are here. No easy answers. Patrick

Paul we do need to buy American but everything has become so blended that it's getting harder to know what companies are domestic or foreign!!

How true Paul and each day it becomes harder and harder to even find "Made in America" label unless we begin making all our own. Did you know that is what the American colonists did?? All good from Britain were boycotted and the colonists began to make all their own, grow all their own and Pride returned...

Besides a moratorium on imported goods, which are small purchase staples, like food, clothing, etc. imagine if Every American Stopped buying foreign import CARS! bigger price tags!

Next, what would happen to the GREEDY government officials and Flunkies, if NO ONE SHOWED UP TO VOTE IN NOVEMBER? Lousy crooked CREEPS!

Obama, Biden, the Administraion, the Cabinet members, Congress, Senators, Representatives, Supreme Court justices - NONE of them are EVER affected personally by what the PUBLIC SUFFERS -

Right on, Paul...Also, WalMart is not a good place to buy as it buys most of its products from abroad...though I have to admit I have bought there in the past...I have tried though to use local stores, of late rather than wallymart as they put smaller stores out of business, which is NOT American...Ed
