Things have now gone from bad to worse
He just doesn't know what to do
He has prayed hard to God above
But the answers have been too few

This is his second time around
Together in their twentieth year
Twenty years of true happiness
You'd think by now he wouldn't fear

But it's not just the two of them
They still have a little one home
The man loves him with all his heart
He just can't leave the boy alone

He did that the first time around
And none of the pain went away
Two children left without a Dad
It still hurts to this very day

Dear Lord, this man so needs Your help
Help this family to survive
For all the years they've been together
Love and compassion always thrived

Have they grown too distant from You
If that's the case, can't You forgive
The boy needs his Mom and his Dad
So he can continue to live....

A life that's full of happiness
One that is filled with hopes and dreams
Not one of sorrow and despair
Or nightmares that are filled with screams

Dear Lord, can You hear this prayer
What he's asking is simple for You
Give him a sign that You are there
He'll do whatever You tell him to
