Our economy's in the pits
But we can fix it you and me
Refuse to buy any imports
It's really that simple you see

Are you leaders stupid or blind
Or do you look the other way
"Protectionism" is what we need
You shouldn't wait another day

Make what they want in the U S
Using skilled American hands
Ban all imports entirely
Sell their products in their own lands

Simply old fashioned common sense
That's been missing for a long time
By uncaring Americans too
Did Patriotism become a crime?

With freedom of choice I agree
Unless it hurts one of our own
Obviously that's what it's done
Out of control selfishness has grown

Do unto others as you would
As you'd have others do to you
Some countries put tariffs on our goods
And unfair trade simply won't do

You hold our future in your hands
Do what you know is only right
Protect those who voted you in
Open your eyes and see the light!
