In the beginning God did make
The heavens above and the earth
A planet without life or form
But darkness fell upon the dirt

One day He looked down at it all
Then simply said, "Let there be light"
And all of the world shone brightly
Darkness defeated by His might

God saw the light was very good
Divided it from the darkness
He chose to call the bright time day
The dark He named night was lightless

That evening and its morning
Became the first day of this earth
And soon He would add so much more
Giving to man more than we're worth

He made blue skies above the globe
Divided the waters below
Formed clouds with water high above
Whenever God spoke it was so

That evening and that morning
Became the second day for the earth
The waters beneath the heavens
He separated from the dirt

God said, "Let the dry land appear"
And just like before it was so
Then the earth brought forth its first grass
Scores of fruit bearing trees did grow

Seeds of the trees were of themselves
In themselves after God's own way
And He saw that this too was good
All this He did on the third day

He placed a great orb in the heavens
That divided the day from night
In the dark of space he placed stars
To rule the dark with lesser light

And this God did on the fourth day
His creation was nearly done
When God saw that it was all good
Great light and warmth came from the sun

God said, "Let the waters have life
Bring to the sky birds that will fly"
He made all the living creatures
It was so good God's angels cried

Then God offered them His blessings
Said, "Be fruitful and multiply
Fill up the waters in the seas
Soar majestically in the sky"

Life created on the fifth day
Next came cattle and creeping things
Beasts of the earth after His kind
All was good and the birds did sing

Soon man would come in God's image
With dominion over all
Every walking, crawling thing
The way it was before man's fall

Then God made both man and woman
Said, "Behold, I give to you all
All on earth, all fruit bearing trees
They're all yours at your beck and call"

And this was done on the sixth day
Yes, God saw it needed the man
The heavens and earth were finished
All was according to God's plan!
