Out in the forest, dark and deep
We never feel like we're alone
God's creations are everywhere
And they make us feel right at home

Up at sunrise to find a doe
Prancing about on our front lawn
A buck looking on from the trees
While protecting their newborn fawn

Our noon time guests are two black bears
They come by most everyday
Want nothing more than to say hello
Then soon after they're on their way

I love this life God's given us
Its trials have brought us to His side
Lessons in life have taught us much
And in His ways we will abide

Yes, some money is good to have
But just enough to get us by
We've seen the ways money corrupts
Watched too many good people cry

It can buy material things
But it cannot comfort one's soul
We've heard His message loud and clear
The richness of God makes one whole

Thank You, Lord for this simple life
Surrounded by all that You made
It couldn't be any better
No matter how much we might pay
