I came across this one while looking thru my unposted/unpublished writes. "Writing free verse poetry is like playing tennis with the net down." Robert Frost
Yes, that makes perfect sense to me
Poetry is a tale that rhymes
Written using meter and verse
How I wish I lived in Frost's time
What's happened to old poetry
Now there's Haiku, Senru and prose
I guess that time simply moves on
Still, I don't get any of those
That's what makes this old world go 'round
Thirty-some flavors of ice cream
Different strokes for difrent folks
And nightmare's mixed in with our dreams
So, I keep tradition alive
By using meter, verse and rhyme
That's what poetry is to me
Yes, I'll take that any old time
Just a matter of what one likes
Nothing to do with lit-rature
Write the way it comes from the heart
That should be our first choice fur-sure
This is really cute, Paul, and obviously from the heart! I've been enjoying trying some of the other forms lately, but my natural inclination is just like yours...poems rhyme!
I just found your comment on my blog about Sandy Hook, Paul. Thank you for that!
You are an excellent writer my friend. Some of those other types of poetry I never understood any way. Why try to fix something that works so well, Your great style of writing...........GOD BLESS YOU.
From the Caribbean Sea to Machu Picchu in Peru, and from birds to flowers and butterflies, Reflections and Treasured Wonders offers a collection of images gathered from around the world.
This exceptional book, Celebrating the Gift of Being Alive, has the perfect thoughts and words for birthdays, graduations, engagements, marriages, and any life celebration or family tradition.
BTW: It has nothing to do with lit-rature!
Much Success,
John Michael
