The Lord spoke to Moses and said,
Consecrate all firstborn to Me
From every womb in Israel
They are Mine, both of man and of beast.

So, Moses said to the people,
"Remember this day when you went
Out of Egypt and slavery
This great blessing our Lord has sent

"By the powerful hand of God
He brought you right out from that place
No leavened bread shall be eaten
Small sacrifice to show your faith

"This day in the month of Abib
You will again be all sent out
It shall be when Our Lord brings you
To the Promised Land, have no doubt

"He swore to your fathers to give you
A land flowing with milk and honey
You will observe the rite in this month
It is worth more than gold or money

"The Feast of the Unleavened Bread
It will be a feast to the Lord
Tell all your children of this day
For the Lord is true to His word

"It will serve as a sign to you
A reminder on your forehead
All laws of God must be followed
You will do just what the Lord said

"Therefore, you'll keep this ordinance
At its appointed time each year
The Lord calls it the Promised Land
For He promises peace, not fear

"Then you shall devote to our Lord
The firstborn of every womb
All the males belong to our Lord
From every beast that you own

"If you choose not to redeem it
Break its neck, God commands of you
Every first born male that's born
None of them shall belong to you

"Back when we were treated as slaves
When Pharoah wouldn't let us go
The Lord killed every firstborn
God's wrath conquered Israel's foe"

When Pharoah let God's people go
God did not lead them through the sand
Through the land of the Philistines
For there was war throughout that land

Hence, God led His people around
Through wilderness to the Red Sea
The sons of Israel went out
In martial array to get free

Moses took the bones of Joseph
For Joseph made Israel swear
Saying, "God will take care of you,
If you carry my bones from here."

The Lord went before them by day
In a cloud pillar to lead the way
In a pillar of fire by night
So that they could travel by light
