"We pledge allegiance to the flag
Of this great land the U.S.A.
We are one nation under God
And this is the way it will stay "True liberty and justice for all
That's the way it was meant to be
We are not your helpless subjects
We demand our right to live free
"Let there be no doubt about this
We are the leaders of this land
Liberty and justice for all
Given to us by God's own hand
"Our founding fathers fought and died
So we could live without a king
We the people will not be ruled
Tread lightly or beware our sting"
Hear the words of We The People
For too long you've blotted them out
They won't take your drivel anymore
Their words they very clearly shout
I plan to be the people's voice
Corruption has reached its trail's end
Let me make this perfectly clear
Their Constitution I will defend
You have no right to make a law
That the people do not approve
Too many times you've crossed that line
Pack up your desks, it's time you move
Our failure is not an option
You rode the gravy train too long
It's time we park it on a spur
The people united will be strong

Paul, I just read your poem and must tell you that we are kindred spirits on this one. As I sit in my family room, blinds drawn, the sun shines brightly, and I can see the shadow of Old Glory dancing in the wind. Your poem, combined with what I am seeing, gives me a chill, reminding me that patriotism is still much alive. May God forever bless the USA. Thanks for the write.
