The inspiration to write this piece came from God through a mutual friend in the Author's Den. Thank you, David. God does work in mysterious ways indeed. Some say we've gone too far from shore
And it's much too late to turn back
I don't believe in fairy tales
I place our fate in truth and fact
The will of the people is strong
And though we've drifted far away
We're still one nation under God
So, to Him we must turn and pray
God may bless this nation again
If we bring Him back to our schools
Our founding fathers trusted Him
Helped them be free of the King's rules
We've become too independent
Thinking we can go it alone
So all the blessings God gave us
Far from the shore they have been blown
But they've not been taken away
They're out at sea still within reach
A simple test He's giving us
That from the Bible we need teach
We need The Pledge of Allegiance
Exactly how it used to be
We need it to be said in schools
To show our kids why we are free
We don't have to be radicals
This simple prayer each day will do
Yes, that's what The Pledge really is
A prayer that is said by too few
We haven't gone too far from shore
For we all know the world is round
Gather God's blessing as we sail
Then place our faith on solid ground
Could it really be so simple?
Yes, I believe it is, my friends
Place our fate in the hands of God
I believe He'll bless us again

I pray that you are right; however, there is a new mindset in this country. The majority of people don't seem to think the way you and I and some of your other readers do anymore. Can God bring us back to shore? Certainly. He can do anything. He is Master of the universe. But is it possible that we have drifted so far that He has turned his back on us? I pray He hasn't.
