I think Toby Keith's new video inspired a bit of this, as did EM Forster, and my life.

On the back of your old Harley with the wind in my hair

my chest pressed against your back without a single care

walking away from the things that once tied me down

tired of pleasing others so that I’m the who frowns

And so we ride away to find a spot of nature’s quiet grace

it’s dreams we share that we both know can never be replaced

And though our times like this may be short and bittersweet

at least within our hearts and souls the tenderness repeats

When I look deep into your eyes, it’s then that it all makes sense

and for all these tears and loneliness, there is some strange recompense

solace comes, for the choice is none, when love has lost its head

and we go into passion’s crimson land where angels fear to tread

To love you so is like breaking glass as I split in so many ways

in depths of longing compulsion grows while sense it does delay

I try so hard to hide my eyes of where you go to in these times

though the stab is there, a rose’s thorn, the scent remains sublime

Littering night’s star-filled skies with bits of papered "I love you’s"

for this ride we take, this love we make, just cannot be refused

Come to me, sweet love, we can follow the compass of the seas

for bliss remains within the hope of tomorrow’s fate released

Beautiful. How I long to escape into the embrace of love, finding it so eloquently written in the words above.

Some very good lines here, like "this love we make" and "I split in so many ways." I like the narrative quality, riding the Harley somehow ties the poem together. Nice! --Kathy

I can do without the Harley... ... but you would be fine, Michelle. Not that you'd care. Love and all my best to you,

As Felix says love and fate cannot be planned, there is only one that has the doings with it. Thank you for sharing.

I love it. The thoughts and feelings expressed are so intense that each line holds a teardrop or is blessed with a smile. Love and fate cannot be planned for they are in the hands of the Gods...all that can be enjoyed is the moment...
