For People who have loved deeply :)

Peeled back and tearing into the crimson pulp inside

shredded sense of clarity to which your heart replied

I piece together this flesh collage of broken silent tears

no longer ruled by self- inflicted arrow-headed fears

ensconced well within his glittered costumed nights

he’s shorn all else in exchange for fading rebel lights

yet questioned whether well-loved this other far away

when nearer still with another I wrestle a deep dismay

oft spoken of was this love once a stranger to my soul

mocked it was by such as I, this all-consuming whole

denied with a certainty that would turn most fools away

true future faced of empty arms and fantasies replayed

yet I cannot love another with this depth I love with you

my own lies to be told if I pretend that fact is not so true

crying then is my heart’s release when I see you lying there

escape to my empty room to pretend again like I don’t care

a slapped face is well-deserved for daring to dream like this

but connected as I know we are, it’s one I can’t dismiss

heavy-footed death when here to carry me on to the light

to eternity with steadfast wings I’ll cherish it, wrong or right

Hard not to mourn a love once it's lost. Everyone we love becomes a part of us. This is a beautiful reminder of those sentiments. As always, Michelle, your originality shines:) Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Here's one I can Deeply relate to...as my own poems "Unrequited" and "I could love you" will attest to. There may be no harder pain to overcome, save that of loosing a loved one forever...and, yet, we need to respect the other's feelings if we truly love them...this is a very hearfelt read, M'Lady. Well done!
May you always have the brightest of the light with you,
Jim

To love so deeply and not be able to share it with that special "one" is a pain only those who have loved so completely can truly understand. Emotions ooze from your pen in a beautiful, but heart-wrenching write. Hugs, Elizabeth

Dear Michelle, this is the beauty of writing about love. It is well done. No one can change the real love. Love is power and affection.

Your poem expresses well the pain causes by love too lightly given and too deeply received. If I had a dollar for all the times men have said they loved me and didn't well....I'd be wearing much more bling.

Michelle,

The intricate passionate poetic tale told here of a jilted lover or a betrayal of trust, is as old as the hills, yet you breathe new life into the footsteps of heavy-footed death approaching the bleeding wounded soul.

Well Done!

We can not always chose who our hearts want to be with but society and fate often decides where and for how long we breath. the best we can hope for is to make the time and the memories shared be special ones to last forever. Great write.

Trust, Faithfulness, Truthfulness. . . .
No matter how deep we keep seaching
Reaching. . . . .
Will still. . . . .
One day be tested.
Fail or pass
True Love last past the tears of disappointment.

Such a touching and reflecting poem.
You share a part of your soul with us.

"truely will cherish it, WRONG OR RIGHT". Its a peice to read more than once because there so much to draw from it. Isnt love a beautiful thing? It sure goes as deep as you take it. Great work Michelle.
