went ta' the doc
again today
had to hear
what he had to say

he said "man, your liver
is a quiver"
how much do you drink?"

i said a bunch
he had a hunch
so asked again
"how much was that again?"

i said
i start with a fifth
the i do proceed

he said
"indeed"

well, hell
do tell
what he said next...

"my friend
in the end
that'll kill ya'"

i said no shit sherlock

he looked at me with a mind block

"so you want to die
why?
is that why you try
to kill yourself
or do think you be an elf
and live forever...
not with your liver!"

i said

"ok doc
got it in my head

so help me stop
drinkin'
sinkin'
help me stop thinkin'"

so the doc looked at me
and he see said...
"when you buy the booze
what do you do's"

i said
i buy a bottle
and a bag of ice"

"OK"
take my advice
we'll try it this way
take these little pills
for 10 days

ain't gonna' hurt you
no ways
but you do what you do
you do what you don't
it won't
offend me

just don't buy no ice!
see

you owe me 50 dollars
anyway

but if i was you
or you were me
i'd try to be
a little more intolerate"

so i took his advice
and his 'script
took his knowledge & his wit

left his office
made my choice
stopped off and bought a fif
and a bag of ice
and it was nice
that was it
oh shit

tomorrow is another day
i'll stop tomorrow anyway

see the doc & me
we understand
how an alcholic be
we stand
on our own

'till we can't stand alone
so long
'till the ice man cometh'
or 'till he go away
what can i say?
anyway.

life's just here
then it's gone it's way!
anyday.anyway.

'till the ice man cometh
what can i say?

You gotta do what you gotta do, Steve...if drinking be your thing, then go for it with all you got, wash those pills down with the 5th, whats the worse that could happen, if it doesn't kill ya, it may make you stronger or at least smell that way...! Peace thru Doing your own Thing, Ed & Rufuz
