i wish i could sing
to bring
a singer's song
i wish
my word's were never wrong
just a song
i wish
i could cast a spell
a story to tell
hell
i wish i could sppell
to tell
a song that would last
thrru the future
not the passst
i wish i could sing
but, man my notes don't ring
out of tune
out of rhythmn
out of rhyme
guess i have my own time
and spellin'
oh wellin'
i just be tellin'
my own story
so don't worry
they be the future
or the past
these words won't last
it's just a spell
that i can't cast
but,
i wish i could sing
make my notes ring
out of tune
out of rhyme
but sing i would
if only i could
i wish i could sing
but my notes don't ring
out of tune
out of rhtymn
out of rhyme
out of of my own time
but write i can do
the words that are true
poetry
from me to you
but i can't sing along
hell i can't find the song
that's not where my voices be
my words
are in my poetry
that's where i guess i be
but i wish i could sing
man, would that bring
new meaning
to what i say
to what i play
to me
&you
to my poetry
what would i do
what would i bring
if i could sing
i guess it would be
poetry
in a song
if only i could sinsgg
if onlyt i could types
if only my poetry
be a song
hope you know
where i belong
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face this morning. What a wonderfully witty piece. It has such great rhythm it should be a song. There is a line that goes: "If you cannot be a poet, be a poem" perhaps we could paraphrase and make that: 'If you cannot be s singer, be a song'
It really must be hell
not to be able to spell
but a slip of the finger
Could cause eyes to linger
uncovering embarrassing
'smells'?
