tonight i'm just going to ramble
gamble
that you'll see
another part of me
not tryin' to right
poetry
that rhyme
just say what i say
about another day
back in 2001
after my divorce was done
i met someone
her name was pamela sue
that'll do
we met in august or september
i don't remember
but last december
she died
and inside i cried
she was a beauty
a real cutie
when she smiled
your life lit up for a while
eyes so blue
it made the sky
wonder why
it thought it was blue
that be true
but when she would stare
you'd wish you weren't there
she cut right thru
thin air
to where
you were
some how she knew
she'd dance
she'd prance
she'd take her stance
tweren't what you thought at first glance
she & i
met in AA
both tryin' to stay
away
from the bottle & the past
for her that did last
until the end
love you dear friend
she'd send
me post cards
at Halloween
it had crayon colors
and said have a colorfull Halloween
then there was one
with lightnin' & thunder
and a quote
i don't remember who wrote
but it said
something like this
"being alone ain't set in stone
but all man's problems come from being alone"
at christmas that year
(and i shed a tear)
she gave me
a handcarved "Trojan Horse"
i knew she'd picked it out her self
with a secret compartment
top shelf
be your self
she told me
things aren't always as they seem
moonbeam
for my birthday
that year
(which is 12/26 forget the year)
she gave me a piece of slate
that simply state...
"We need to talk...God"
with a background so blue
almost as blue as her eyes
she stayed sober & straight
me i went my own way
what can i say
i kept drinkin'
sinkin'
& sunk
but today i thunk
about her
and the blue in her eyes
and i wonderin' why's
she die's
at 49
she be fine
a body that would blow
your mine
guess we never know our time
i didn't attend
her funerall
afterall
time had past
our love" had passed
but our friendship
still be a ship
that sail
oh well,
she's gone
so long
let by gones
be
but as for me
i still remember
a friend
1 to the end
and now
somehow
i know
she walk
she talk
with God
and every month
i take a red rose
to lay on her grave
and everday
i say
"We need to talk..."
and as time runneth
to it's close
i know's
"We need to talk"
then we will walk
you, God & i
i still love you, goodbye
