you just don't understand...
havin' an addiction
there in your gland
that affliction
the ONE that is no fiction
there in your hand
there where you stand
you just don't understand
you just don't understand
how it be
to be me
to stand
with your back to the wall
everyday
hearin' the call
everyday
come's what may
sun or rain
there is always the pain
it's insane
that be all
with my back to the wall
you can never understand
where i stand
walk a mile
in my shoes
smile
with the tears that are true
now those be the blues
for those of you's who do's
there, walkin' in my shoes
you just don't understand
ain't know way
for me to say
nor for me to pray
nor for you to understand
just where i fall
just where i stand
you just can't understand
with your back to the wall
there you stand
so straight & tall
and that be it all
i have to say
except bury me where i lay
have a nice day
at 8:42 at night
on a tuesday
what happened to the day's light
it turned into night
gone is the sunlight
anyway
so go
i'll never know
but i learn as i go
hopefully i'll grow
and it will show
how do we know
life's glow?
how can you understand
if i don't
or i won't
if i ain't shown
that i've grown
how can i stand
how can you man?
so i just stand
with my back to the wall
standin' tall
after all
is this it, is this all
my back to the wall
tryin' to understand
the mis-UnderStood
i would if i could
i might if i was write
afterall
ain't it a ball
but you'll never understand
unless you had your last chance
to dance, to prance, to take a glance
afterall,
ain't it a ball?
but, you'll never understand
unless you've had your chance
your last dance
to stand
to be a man
you'll just never understand
then you'll know
which way to grow
which way to go
you'll see
which way the wind does blow
then maybe you can see me
can you understand?
with your back to the wall
such is Life
it's strife
that be all
but you will never understand
back to the wall
walk a minute in my shoe
left or right
i don't care
just be fair
you choose
win or loose
right or left
what's left?
i'm prety sure
most will not understand
this poetry
but those of you who know me
will.
but still
will you ever understand
back to the wall
standin' tall
waitin' for summer to bring the fall
then comes winter
when it get's cold
damn this poem is growin old

You'll be surprised how many people are in the same boat as yours; and they are just feeling as helpless as you are. We, the sober ones, can only say "knock it off!...cut off the addiction!"...but it isn't easy as said. We DO understand.
The best thing to be is that you be happy with yourself, with or without the addiction. Don't feel anything less than what you are actually worth as a person because of this addiction. It's true, it is hard to fight against it, but it doesn't make you less of a human being just because of this. The personality of the person, and the addiction are two different things.
You must accept yourself first and then things will begin to fall into places. I think you are a nice person.
This is a very honest poem from written from your heart. A message to all. Thank you for sharing such an honest write.

You're right--noone can truly understand what they haven't experienced. I enjoyed the repetition in this poem. Even though it was a very long poem compared to most poems, it held my attention all the way to the end. Your writing style is simple, easy to understand, and quite expressive as well.
A scientist/philosopher explores the mysteries of existence in a highly personal quest for answers to life's ultimate questions, forging a bridge between sterile science and spiritual values -- a scholarly work for all who seek wisdom, truth, true fr
A unique perspective about the reality of existence, the meaning of life, the true impact of relationships between human beings and all life as well as the spirit world, and the impact that everyone makes on the universe. (Available in Print or as an
