(this is another repost. i've recently been going back thru some of my early writings ... taking a look back if you will. this poem was originally witten on March 29, 2003. i was still trying to get over a divorce, learning to live a single life after 18 yrs. of marriage, struggling with my alcoholism,unemployed & taking care of my aging parents, among other things. my life was truly in turmoil.)

1st Person Plural
sorta' surreal
makes quite a mural
all a' the faces
all a' the traces
livin' in Plural
strange how ya' Feel

All of my "I's"
make all of their try's
at sayin' goodbye's
to all a' my lies

if i could just Be
only one a' Me
i just might See
i just might be Free

sure is surreal
makes a big Deal
outta' tryin' ta' Be Real
