i wish
i had some magical rhyme
to take me back to a magical time
i wish
i had an entrancing rhythmn
to express these feelings i've been given
a poem
can feel what the heart brings
a word
says so many things
a rhyme
can haunt and be sublime
and rythmn
is what makes Life worth Livin'
but today
i wait for Death
i await my Dad's last breath
his poem
has been written & read
all his words have been said
his rhyme now is lost to time
and his rhythmn has all been given
so if today
a poem i would say
with my word play
or
if tonight
a poem i could write
i just might
find my Rhyme in Dad's Time
and find my Rhythmn
in all that my Dad's given
i wish i had a poem
to write today
but today
all i have to say
is ...
i love you, Dad
you were a good Christian Man.
you were a good Husband.
you were a good Father.
thank you
for all you were,
for all you did
and
for all that you will Forever Do.
Both beautiful and sad, this poem is a wonderful tribute to your father, Steve. May he go in peace and may his memory forever warm your heart and guide your life.
Take care,
Sherry
The most perfect poem one might author (if this poem is autobiographical) under such circumstances is the love expressed and lived. Thus your heart serves now as your pen and your soul as the incandescent ink with which you have honored a worthy man and life. Peace be with you both.

TRUE STORY. Bella survived an abusive powerbroker father with organized crime ties, a drug-addicted mother and a physically/sexually abusive brother. Shocking & inspirational. When she couldn't cry, she tattooed a crying angel to cry for her.
