today or i guess it was tonight i brought you flowers
i didn't buy them i picked them some were red some were yellow some were blue some were purple i didn't buy them i picked them just for you i didn't have a vase i put them in a glass today or tonight i brought you flowers i hope you smiled and knew i was thinkin' of you i hope you know i love you i hope these flowers will do

I picked the flowers in front of the court,
Arrested I was, given to tort,
The judge did say, Lock him up, not in a resort,
I write you these notes from the bad side of the fence,
Everywhere I go now I do so with an armed escort...;) e & r
