you've gone away
for ever and a day
ok
it's only until next wednesday

you've gone home
for a little while to roam
perhaps, before you have a new home
perhaps, before you have a place to call home

spend some times
remembering old rhymes
before you find new times
hell, that ain't no crime

you wanted to visit your grandmothers
visit with some others
one's who once were like sisters and brothers
i agreed with your druthers

but, i miss you
i really want to kiss you
and touch you
and make love wth you

you promised to check your E-mail
without fail
you promise not to bail
if i didn't go and set sail

and so i write this poetry
about the "we"
that's you & me, still hard for me to believe this can be
still hard for me to see

still hard to think it's real
hard to really let myself feal
ain't no big deal
with you i know i can heal

God, you just left yesterday
you've been gone forever & a day
it's ok you went away
you promised to come home to stay
