it's not too often
this old hippie
is at a loss for words.
and good or bad
usually i can ryhme.
probably not this time.
not so long ago
i didn't wanna' try.
i didn't wanna' live.
couldn't seem to die.
then i turned around
and you were there.
melanie, darlin',
you were a breath of fresh air.
you made me laugh.
you made me smile.
you made me grin.
you made me
want to live agin'.
so what words can i say.
what ryhme would do.
all that comes to mind is
Melanie, Thank You.
