there are memories,
moments in my life,
which seem to transcend
time and space.
moments which,
although they happened years ago,
retain a clerity,
a clearness,
the nearness of today.
moments which are more
than an instant replay...
moments which are as real today
as they were the day they were real.
the moment i heard your voice for the first time.
the moment we kissed for the first time.
the moment you awoke in my arms for the first time.
the moment you said you would be mine forever.
each moment you told me we would have a child.
each moment our children were born.
special moments when you smiled.
special moments when you laughed.
the moments i made you cry.
the moment you said good-bye.
the moment i saw him in your eyes.
the moment i knew our love had died.
not a day or an hour.
not even a second.
but that specific instant
when life was real
for the moment.
and those moments,
those memories,
seem to define my life.
good or bad
they are my life
as i remember my life.
maybe this moment
will be one of those memories.
this moment
when i accepted
the moments in my life.
(not much rythmn or ryhme here. but, hopefully, some emotion.)
