someone should tell our hearts

"someone should tell our dreams
when love is gone.
while still in slumber
memories linger on.
sometimes i lie awake
in bed 'till dawn
thinking of you.
now you're gone." *

what a line.
what a song.
that feelin'
to me could belong.
love gone wrong.
love gone.
sad song.

it's funny & it's sad.
it can drive ya' mad.
the memories
of what ya' had.

and in your dreams
when the moon beams
gleam
across your mind
those memories can be so unkind.

someone should tell our dreams.
someone should tell the moonbeams.
someone should tell our hearts
when love departs.

* ( another fine line from john prine. thanks, john, for the quick start to this ryhme.)

Steve..
Love dies and one heart seems to die but the eternal flame of hope is always there so we keep the vigil. Life is like this. It gives and takes and we perservere and sometimes, if we're lucky....we learn love again. I love your poem.
Peace and light,
Susan
