i got a phone call today
kinda early this morning
from my ex
called me on my cell
not thru ma bell
not sure what it was
she was callin about
not sure why she called me at all
but she did
she'd quit her job or got fired
not sure which it was
me, i thought i'd been retired
"you were right about him"
"how did you know"
"yeah, he only wanted in my pants,
did that show"
"so now i'm goin' out on my own"
"jack's gonna a back me, thought i'd let you know"
"he'll support me for 6 months, but he's not supporting me, just business, an investment"
"and if it don't work, i'll sell the house (our house), and pay him back"...darlin'...ain't got no equity

time was i'd be there
but now i just get to share

Hey, this is good stuff. And interesting in that I think it was yesterday that you were sad and lonely over your wife leaving you, as well as a lot of other hard sad moments that have accumulated over the past couple of years. Maybe life isn't so cut and dry afterall?
