i was talking with some friends today
about easy does it, one day at a time,
living in the now.
i told them simply
i didn't know how.

a picture came into my mind
of how my days seem to go along.
i feel like my life's
a game of emotional ping-pong.

every once in awhile
i'll hit the net.
i'll get a "let".
that's as close to "now"
as i seem to get.

it's not too bad anymore.
i'm gettin' used to it.
the only time it's a problem
is when only one side
get's to hit.

that's when the ball
wants to bust.
that's when i
turn to dust.

if i could i'd stop
the ball on top of the net.
but, as close as i come
is a "let".

as for livin' in Now
that's as close as i get.
