Never Quit

Quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit

He told me I wouldn’t amount to anything
in Life
Too short, too small, non-white
She spoke ill of me
you ugly fool, crooked teeth and can’t speak or write right
Anything to create a strife
to be a roadblock from here to eternity
The committee of they also proclaimed that no none could do it
No one tried before and never will try
I realized too there is a fleeting nature to fame and fortune
words, like deeds, are but a temporary accomplishment
But somehow I knew I can
That no one could steal my dream
or take control of me
My mind and spirit was mine to keep
The difference I found out was a purpose
So I ran, ran, and ran
From Honolulu to Boston, a marathon or two
To prove to others what winning big could do
for those who won’t quit, can’t quit
Dedication, personal sacrifice, then a big win
Over self, not others
So I’ve focused on the long term
where winning and losing and problems abound
balancing risks and rewards
But the biggest win of all
is not the earthly reward
but the God above in eternity.

Thank you, Myles, I needed this one. From the beginning sentence, I identified...hard to get motivated when all you've heard is negativity. Pray for me; I hate being called a failure (as I was by my eldest sister and parents and on the day my Mother died); you hear it so long, you believe it........well done. I don't want to be a loser the rest of my life....

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :( *tears*

So I’ve focused on the long term

Good For You, and some committees are truly a waste of time.

Right on! Mr. "I Can't" never did anything. And that committee of "they" are gathered together because they can't accomplish anything in real life, and "they" want you to be a loser, too. You can do anything you set your mind to. There is an old rule: You would not crave to do something if you did not have a talent for doing that thing. So, always push your talents one step past your perceived limitations, and be a winner! Write on!

Ted

You are so very right, never, ever give up.... Follow your mind and heart and all the dreams in your path......

Be safe,

You lived your dream...Fantastic...A great accomplishment on your part. You are so right, the greatest reward will be to walk for eternity in Heaven with God. For death take to Heaven our souls and the memories.
