After D-Day , June 6, 1944
Beaches of Sword, Utah, and others
Their sands never Spent
Indeed Spent
Finality in question
Scooped out craters
Slaughtered lives and debris
They blazed forward in land
Now remains
Silent Sentinels
As reminders of Years ago
Like yesterday's clashing waves
Great Men and Women
Fought at their Behest and Fear
between Beaches and Hedgerows
These Eyes...
Covered and carried the weight
So that Freedom stands
As she should stand
In These Eyes present...
