Learning to be patient

                                                           Patience

Listen in the silence to all that you know and will come to know.

Each breath that you take is a breath that will precede the next, as each step that you take comes before the next step.

For you cannot breath for the life that is to be tomorrow, as you cannot complete your journeys end, less you take one step before the next.

When a tree is in the cycle of it’s life, it then knows when it is time for it to bear it’s fruit.  And when the fruits are ripe, they are dropped from the limbs and in time the fruit will be gone and the new seeds are scattered to the soil.

As you encounter the wonders of life, be silent and listen for the time of life’s cycles, then you will understand when it is time to interact and relate with the nature of what is before you.

You must know that if you are impatient and harvest the fruit before it’s time, then you will have a fruit that is sour to taste, and the sweetness of your experience will have been wasted in the futility of your haste.

When the fruit is harvested at the right time then you will become at one with, and a part of the natural offering that was meant to be consumed.  And it’s fragrance and richness will be your nourishment. And you will then know that in having patience, your life will be in the eternal rhythm of all living things.

I've nurtured the Red Raspberry grapefruit in the back all season and now eacg one is it's own ball of tenderness, aroma and is beckoning, "Give us all another week or too and we won 't disappoint." I listen , and though eagar, I will wait for the real treasure that only time will see ripen.
I enjoy yopur poetry. They remind me of grapefruit...succulant and worthy of waiting.

Great wisdom shown in this poem Dan. I love the way you started one part with, "As you encounter the wonders of life, be silent and listen for the time of life’s cycles,".
Loud applause,
Marcia

there is so much beauty to be found in the stillness of silence
which is an array of all the peace & serenity released
patience is beautiful all in it's own rewards
a deliverance of glorious bounties

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
