The Joshua tree is one of the most easily recognizable trees in the Southwest of North America. With its striking shapes, the Joshua tree is a very visible life form in what is often seen as a lifeless, barren landscape.
Joshua trees
Through the spiraling halls of karma,
I hold tightly to my breast, a heart filled with reverence, walking together with the spirit of hope, the demon of despair, my guardian angels, and the fate of man's love on earth.
As they tire along the way, I lift them onto my shoulders, and their weight bends my frame, and my bare feet
absorb the pain of the cobble stone path in the darkened maze.
But tender thoughts of a woman's sweet love intoxicate me, and within its purity, I feel the beauty of a garden filled with blooming flowers, and ripened fruits fragilely hanging from branching limbs, just waiting there to be tasted. Joshua trees everywhere, rising up from within my soul, and the essence of life's smiling eyes, gleaming on the horizon.

Intriguing connection, placing a path being walked, next to this particular plant. Even the "...spiraling halls of karma," can be seen in the spikes and upliftedness of this species. (I've seen the fields of them around Edwards AFB, California - Tehachapi, CA.) I'm especially appreciative of your phrase "As they tire along the way," as all yin gives way to yang and back and forth, creating the momentum and weight of change....upon us mortals. Growing up in southern California I know the Joshua tree quite well. What an interesting symbol you have chosen. Our journey here can be beautiful with many memories. Some we can cast away that are not so fond and others we can hold in "reverence"
I get a visual of you, the Joshua tree, with it's crooked trunk and branches, waiting for the female Pronuba moth coming to your blossoms in order to promote the continuation (the horizon) of your species. Even if my interpretation is incorrect, this is a lovely piece!! Thank you.
