One day
I touched her branch,
and held its fragile foliage in my hand.
When I looked into the veins in its leaf
I began to understand.
I laid my bodies’ skin
against the sun baked clay,
face down I thought I must.
The heat of my bosom against
the warm field of her breast,
we tightly held each other's trust.
Crystal patterns glimmered in the tears
pouring from my eyes,
Pure shimmering droplets
boiling up from her springs rise.
Blending together to form a creek carving,
arteries in the earth the wetness feeding roots starving.
Then rising up born into this world
were cumulous alive,
gracefully chasing the end of the endless blue sky.
We dreamt a beautiful dream one day,
Mother Earth and I.
God bless,
Lew
