one thing leads to another

Starving the soul of spiritual enlightenment,

feeds the illusion of self,

nourishing the falsehood of ego,

and birthing a son whose name is arrogance.

There's a story that goes that one family, hoping to be spared the horrors associated with the "Tower of Babel" (imagine not even being able to speek your brother's name) built barges to flee to a promised land. Knowing that there would be no light on the barges for many long weeks, he took and forged 16 clear stones from the mountain and prayed mightily to the Great Spirit to touch them so they would be filled with light. So great was the man's faith, that he saw the finger of God as He touched them, and they were indeed filled with light.
And it occurs to me, that if this story is true, then we, even if our hearts are hard as stone, can be filled with the same kind of light from that same finger. Creatures of light we'd all be then. Such a light as that would surely make us see better into other's souls-- into our own-- a new sense of self that is self-less, and because of that, self-more. Thanks for the meal. --Charlie

Powerful! So important to trust the unseen hand, to know that we are all in this together.
Blessings,
Christine

So true, so very true.
Ego is the bane of the world and it spawns the sleeping vile.
Awareness brings enlightenment and freedom from the ego.
