MIND OVER MATTER

 The thought of you

I  removed the thought of you from the center of my mind.

I held it so gently in the palm of my hand,

it eclipsed the dimensions of space........and time,

as it softly laid upon the deep groves of m hand's heart

and life lines.

I transfered it onto the satin petal of a scarlet rose,

as its blossom unfolded your beauty was exposed.

I then carefully placed it on the roots of a willow tree,

entwined into my heart it grew so passionately.

I have now carefully laid it down on a white swan's feather

that floats around my sphere.

Its never out of my sight,

as if you were always standing right here.

I no longer think of you from time to time,

I took the thought of you............ and extracted it from my mind.

Oh sigh, as you so gently allow this to carefully unfold and blossom...

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
