Upon Reflection If the essence of life showed its color,
what do you think you would see?
If you wanted to look into life’s face
who or what do you think it would be?
Viewing the sun when it is descending
and its light, takes the day’s final bow,
Reflections of hews occupy your view,
as pink becomes purple then blue.
When we look at the splendor of all that is living,
how could our emotions not be forgiving?
A fragile flower is bending but resists,
in the moment of the dawning’s dew laden mist.
Then you look to the water’s shore at the edge,
as you stand in the moment and peer from the ledge.
You look at the stillness of liquid detecting
the image of yourself that it is reflecting.
Its ripples distort your shapes as it shows it,
this magical movement is change as we know it,
and the look in your eyes is the miracle that bestows it.
You have now witnessed,
and have seen the face of life.
Its shades in the morning’s dawn,
are transformed back into crystal white.
as they blend to become the sun’s color of light.
