Living ocean
A man journeyed from his home deep in the desert so he could see the ocean before he died, as there were stories told throughout his life of its greatness.
Along the way he passed through many villages and witnessed beautiful green gardens and great accomplishments of architecture and prosperity that filled his heart with joy. But his heart weeped too, as he walked through the alleys and huts along the village's edges, seeing the suffering and hunger from the poor and unfortunate.
He was so distraught that he captured the tears in a small vial of a hungry child, and tears of an old and feeble woman dressed in rags, so he then would never forget.
Every where he saw the poverty of man he collected tears from their crying until his vials were overflowing with their sorrow.
On a day he would not soon forget,
the man realized his dream as he stood before the great ocean. And in its greatness its waves like soft hands, reached to him and soothed his tired feet. And in its greatness his mind and body were cleansed.
He then reached into his garment and opened his vials, pouring their content into the spoils of the sea. And its arms embraced it, and drew the liquid offering down into the depths of its bosom. But then the man could not tell the grief born tears from the sea's overwhelming beauty.
After a moment a wave broke onto the beech, laying down a living carpet of pearls, and the bounty of urchins and shells. Amongst them were dead fish and broken pieces of ships, lost in the dreams of tomorrow.
The man looked into the the infinite
waters before him and saw life in its completeness. For he then realized
that sorrow and joy was the sea,
and he saw this in its crystal clarity.
And when he looked into his soul, he witnessed its purity within its sea
of sorrow and joy.
And the man knew that sometimes
we see just the pain in life, and sometimes just the joy in life,
but remembering they are a part of the living ocean of life.
Best wishes, Diana...
