Tiptoe Through the Forest

Fingers tiptoed, through forbidden forest,

trembling, as leaves shook in their boots,

dark clouds and shadows fell in shame,

a screech owl, cried into the night,

then a hand, reached out and touched,

calmed the sea and opened the sky,

each other's fingers, interlocked,

as the sun spread orange marmalade,

hand in hand, they licked their jam,

sweetness of love, bestowed within,

never did they think this as a sin,
but fate, in the wood's walk of life,

alas, fingers hushed lips..softly, they kissed

Superb atmosphere you create here, Christine, and as warming as a winter's sun on cinnamon toast, shared with true love! An intriguing scenario that is made even more delicious with your choice of metaphors... gotta love those gooey, sticky lips and fingers, too! Love is a honeypot for certain sure xx

Christine, your imagery is marvelous. "trembling as leaves shook in their boots" and the "the sun spread orange marmalade" are delicious. So you led us gently as we "tiptoed through the forest". May peace and love be always with you my dear friend. Jon Michael

Often in life without love we do feel like we are lost and all alone walking in the darkness, it takes the light of love, as you have so eloquently described in the splendid words of this write,to show us the beauty and splendor of the sun and of loves warmth. Well done Chrissie,
