Search Party
In flesh of night, melon skies bled,
oozing in the deepest of unknown,
fragile fingers stretched above tiptoes,
a plea, to the one in white and red
Powerful lens, the keeper’s eye,
emit light in darkest of corners,
in fog, her lantern hung by hope,
of promise, her tears he would dry
Fireflies lit a path where she wept,
knees weak, she stumbled on down,
stripped her dress to wrap him in,
heart to heart, out to sea they swept
………….tears gone dry
"Smiling faces I can see, but not for me,
I sit and watch as tears go by."
I'm so glad your have "gone dry"

for it rushes in and floods my senses and my thinking;
here, you see exceptionally and communicate with such quality.

A powerful opening line and a powerful story. The elements of hope, of a search party, of a search light of a rescue attempt where "tears gone dry"
Great writing.
