It is a "false burden" to try to carry (and deal with) all of the world's problems, and God did not command us to do so. Our Lord is the only example we need and He showed us the way.
A "messiah complex" is a misconception that comes when we think WE are the saviors of the world.
MESSIAH COMPLEX

All of us, we have this burden-
To change the world, that's for certain.
Address the issues of our time,
Drugs, abortion, rising crime.
Some people have a longer list,
Of various evils in our midst.
Lacking power in their tactics,
I find their efforts just quixotic.
Some resort to verbose raucous,
Shouting issues out of focus.
We'd like a wonderful Utopia,
But our methods cause a brouhaha.
Instead of truth we bring out hate,
Away we drive them from our faith.
"Receive our Jesus or go to hell!"
Negative prayers, threats we tell.
But God gave each man a free will,
Of changing hearts we have no skill.
So when we lift them to our Father,
His power comes to answer prayer.
Our Lord Himself did not attempt,
A one day turn-around event.
He just chose twelve who followed Him
And through the cross, the world redeem.
So in our own Jerusalems,
Our lives speak louder to win them.
Love and pray and do not vex,
Get rid of your "messiah complex."
"Not by might nor by power, but by
My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty."
Excellent! Don't think I'm the Messiah, but oh, how I wish I could do something about the world's problems. Well, in a way, all of us can - PRAY! Prayer changes things -
Messiah complex is a deep thought provoking poem. It is a clear picture of what happens when man tries to take control of his own will and emotions. I am a better person just by reflecting and meditating on the contents of this extraordinaire poem.
My hats off to this poet who brought upon me a more consciousntious way of thinking and living
