      Hand of my hand –
   that has withdrawn itself
      and washed clean sin stain,
   reach farther,
      touch
   hands of those
      I cannot,
   for my hand has
      withered
   into uselessness
      without your confidence.

Heart of my heart –
   that has excised itself
      and left me hollow,
   beat on, make
      strong
   hearts of those
      I cannot,
   for my heart has
      shriveled
   into faint frailty
      without your compassion.

Soul of my soul –
   that has severed itself
      and sacrificed trust,
   rouse spirits,
      stir
   souls of those
      I cannot,
   for my soul has
      fallen
   into deep despair
      without your buoyant care.

Know this feeling all too well, Dawn, but have found, as I hope perhaps you already may have, that just by refusing to be kept paralysed by it is the first step to a renewed energy and perspective. Writing is always a good starting point to penetrate the sense of a leaden sky over one's head! And, like walking uphill, sometimes it's just a question of doggedly putting one foot in front of the other... love the raw honesty in this write. Bless you, Kate xx

Dawn,

A powerful, poignant write--may God shore you up :(

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Keep writing, keep strong, and know you're in my prayers. :(

The last line is what sums up the poem. A deeply moving poem.
