Power Wash

I power-washed today.

Rooting out layers of grime, slowly
I uncover my true colors, natural hues
of golden truth and amber strength.

Sheer force of white spray exposes
an inner beauty, bares a state of grace
hidden within the dark recesses
of a clouded memory deep inside
the dark dream that has cast a shadow
across my life’s path.

A fine mist of joy lingers, buoyant
and bubbly like the giddy whispers
between sisters after one falls in love
for the first time.

In translucent rainbows raining down,
all that I’ve never had or could not be
dissolves effortlessly and rolls away,
and the diamond I dreamed of wearing
materializes before my eyes.

I take its shape and form and became
a woman cleansed, reborn a virgin bride
surrendered to the light within.

In translucent rainbows raining down,

Wow. This line is as beautiful as the rainbow itself and refreshes the mind with the aroma of gentle winds taking a turn across a soil moistened by rain water. Thank you virgin bride. I surrender to you in all form and shape

It is necessary to be renewed and ever evolving into what we are to become. You describe what is needed, beautifully, in this gem!

This is a wonderful write, Dawn. We all would do well to cleanse ourselves of the dust and grime that we have accumulated and emerge the shining gems that we are. Very nice work.
Take care,
Sherry
