Lies licked your dancing licorice tongue, aflicker with a lust for power, sweet dominion. Your extra-virgin integrity played dead, surrendered fast and full for an ounce of pounce.
In your desperation to avoid encounter with authentic love, you arched a little lower, oh, anything to achieve the grand illusion of total control.
I watched your eyes go white, vacuous as the anguished abyss from whence you blew smoke without a fire. Extinguished whole before you even left, you were stripped of meaning.
Well, now you have gone and done it, Dawn..howya gonna top this? You cut right to the meat of the issue and left them unable to bleed or sustain their own life. Leaving them to wallow in the mire of their own fouled existance, they are left gasping for breath only to find that they are inhaling their own poisonous vapors. It is always best to take a few steps backwards and in a state of amusement, watch them as the toxic waste that is their life, draws them down like quicksand.
Take care,
Sherry
Great Scott!! I couldn't have done it, but, speakin out of my own head and running completely with my own train of thought, this is like the inverse Jekyll and Hyde of my Arcadia write, which could easily have been written inside out...like a Siren write instead of a SeaHorse write. However, your poetic fluency beats anything I could have written into a cocked hat and makes a nonsense of me doing any "critiquing" for you, Dawn! :)) You have given us the full scenario here with such deft strokes that are as sharp as that licorice tongue that paints your subject so very well indeed. And how I admire your economy, your conceptual nouances as well as the startling imagery. As far as I can see, you are going ahead in leaps and bounds with your poetry and you continue to build on your strengths and exhibit very few weaknesses. You certainly have this write all buttoned up, that's for sure! And you say that your poetry "is less strong" than your creative non-fiction???!!!! Boggling!! Astounding cameo that I like very much indeed. TY Kate xx
