Three nights running
you've come walking up to me,
taller than you seem on TV,
forging through fog of my dreams
into the clearing space
where I find
a calm in your eyes,
sweet reassurance lingering
in the air where words
come to rest and we both
find our smiles.

In case you’re reading this,
I must confess I haven’t watched
your show in two years
and you aren’t really the first guy
I’d pick to have
show up
to hold me firmly, gently,
to whisper a mystery,
then disappear as confidently
as you came and leave me
puzzled, if changed.

It’s all I can think about –
this elusive truth you come to share
and how you stare into me
until a smile breaks like first light
upon your angel face.
Seconds pass.
There’ll be 24 hours more,
but you’ll never be Jack to me, Kiefer.
When you leave the silver screen
remember this beating heart of gold.
And kiss my eyes again.

ah, I know what it is to develop a crush on a singer or actor... Agnetha of Abba was my favourite for long enough, so I related to this poem, Dawn! The Carpenters song says it all... Long ago, I fellin love with you before the second show/Your guitar it sounded so sweet and clear/But you're not really here/It's just the radio...
and so forth. Yep, we need heroes to look up to, to be reminded of greatness. Strength and Honour, Gladioli Gladiator! :-)) k

Beautifully written, Dawn. I've had dreams about movie stars, singers and people I've seen in passing. Also people on AD who I've never met at all. It's just wild. Wish I knew what they meant. Enjoyed this very much.

Haven't watched this show before...but may have to check it out! Cleverly penned, wonderful tribute to shows that get inside us and must be watched. ER is my show. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
