Here he is a visionary,
weaver of words and dreams.
I have known, even
loved, him from afar,
but never fully understood
the pull of his presence
on me or how
the atmospheric pressure
seems to shift
beneath the weight
of what he seems to say
to only me through
all the changes
in my life..

Appearing in a dream
last night, he chose to show me
a time before our time on Earth
when we shared infinite space.
We spoke
without speaking,
the beautiful language of life
like music rising
from the center of our being,
selfless love flowing
in a circle.
Our love was a flame
among an endless sky
of flames.

In the dream he took my hand
and placed it across his heart,
pulling with his other hand
a white linen cloth
from which he unwrapped
three precious gems,
energy-rich, reflecting
pure light.
And his heart began to sing
of a time before time when I
had placed these same stones
in the palm of his hand
for safekeeping, when I
had known of things to come.

Awakening slowly,
I felt I was a flower unfolding
to some deeper understanding,
truth’s reflection
having pierced me
like the streams of living light
moving in and out of the gems
he entrusted for a moment
to my safekeeping
in the dream we wove
together.
