"With eyes wide open, your hearts will now become a portal to the truth of who you’ve always been. Bathed fresh in these embryonic waters of life, you will emerge whole from this time of endings and take your first breaths, your first steps. You will speak your very first words in a language imprinted on your hearts before time began." ~ from Cultivating Essence (http://cultivatingessence.org/free-ebook)
Oh, my heart!
It aches, beating wild with the fierce rhythm
of a distant drum that calls, then
slows to listen for spinning world
that slips fast like paper-thin wings
of a dragonfly in miniature
falling, falling down through the looking glass
shattered to be made whole.
Oh, my heart.
Winds of change carried on tip of my tongue.
I've gone mute, having forgotten
the words I would speak. Or do I
only seek to find now my mind
when they are written on my heart,
madly clamoring now to win me back
and emerge as I am?
Oh, my heart.

bending myself in the mirror
to become what they told me might
make me more acceptable.
Illusion never changed me; this
dragon's magic flickered when I forgot
original design.
Oh, my heart.
I will rise from ash, breathing fire, set free
to dance and spin upon the wind,
become again who I once was
before my wings collapsed and I
succumbed to buzzing quietly,
disheartened by a world not meant for me.
