In Glencolmcille, at sunset, I stand
at the open mouth of the sea and give
my whole life, willingly.
Witness to the great return of a gentle tide,
I am surrendered whole, consumed
and born into an infinte grace—one
with the rugged beauty that rises
from the unseen world.
Here, at the edge of all things, my life
is swept up by a sudden wind. I stand breathless,
looking up with the eyes of a lover, both at home
and ever on the way to all that remains of this day
and all those yet to come.
