About last night
and your impulse to incite,
the compulsion to flee or fight,
and at all costs to be right,

I will shoot no arrows.
I have no messages of love
or angry missives to condemn.
I will stand and will not fall

For such self-compromise
and denial of our one soul,
now washed clean of dirty deed,
Spirit reclaiming wasted seed

And restoring again and again
what either one of us seek to eradicate.
This morning the sun rose beautiful
across the glassy lake, 

Where all I see is the love beneath,
life's true reflection of purity.
So here I stand in silent reverie,
untouched, untained, unmovable

As Spirit has fixed me
to the one star we are.
