No Ordinary Time, No Ordinary Love

I wondered at first, when it became clear
that there would be no turnaround and that
I would no more be bound—nor was I
determined that long years of quiet
persistence be now rewarded...

I wondered if it would all be too much

for you, if our time was over and done.

And in some ways what was is gone and will

not return. But still we have survived it;

the age has turned. All the things they have done

To us they have done to many. And still

there are so many threads unresolved in

the distance between us. Yet, could we not

let it go, leave it behind in the age

now past? Could we, perhaps, begin again?

And if by writing boldly (as remains

true of me as it ever was) you have

any concern that this means I am who

she was then or you are who he was now,

that is not my intent. I might offer

Too that this opening for all to step

with grace and confidence into all two

left for us in their time is something we

two share and also hold in common. No,

no ordinary love for those who walk

On and into a Realm of Radiance.

I for one barely made it out. My skin

is crepe. My sight dims compared to what it

once was. But my heart is true and I would

be grateful to sit for awhile with you.

So serious! I know. And I cannot
tell a joke to save my life. Yet, I am
ready to laugh again, be light-hearted
in the day and to learn to love and trust
by sharing seeds of faith along the way.

PS And maybe busting through beliefs
of the world that was built while we practice
holding together the world that was held—
in a way that is authentically
dangerous to those who limited me. 😁

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
