Woodstock and those idealistic notions have reverberated down through the decades since for those of us that remember how it was and how it is now. Still protesting. Still making small steps towards the ideal. It's been a long time coming and has a long time yet to go.
I watched Darius Rucker singing some of those anthems last night to a loving crowd. The spirit is alive and well.
The last two lines struck me, they say more than the whole of the poem, though I have memories of woodstock, when I too thought the future would be always free but has it really occurred, no, never...thoughtful write, sir, an enjoyment to read...-e-
